At Atelier Clotho, we promise to use only 100% natural animal fibers (collected humanely). Natural wool garments are known for their exceptional warmth, excellent durability, and extreme comfort. While synthetic fibers such as polyester or recycled wool tend to degrade quickly—forming unsightly pilling and losing shape after only a few wears or washes—natural wool is born to last.

Follow our Wool Fabric Care Guide to ensure your wool pieces remain as beautiful as the day you bought them, preserving their quality and softness for decades, or even centuries.

Step1:Washing

Our wool garments require less frequent washing due to wool’s natural resistance to odors and dirt. When cleaning is needed, these instructions will help maintain the fabric’s quality:

  • Dry Cleaning: We recommend dry cleaning as the best option for preserving the quality of your wool garment, ideally once a year. If dry cleaning exceeds your budget or you prefer more frequent cleaning, you may opt for other gentle washing methods as outlined below.

  • Hand Washing: Use cold or lukewarm water (below 20°C) with specialized wool detergent. Wash gently, avoiding soaking for more than a few minutes, and avoiding wringing the fabric.

  • Machine Washing: Many modern washing machines have a dedicated wool cycle. Use this setting, ensuring the temperature is below 20°C with a gentle spin (about 400 rpm). Avoid overloading the machine to reduce friction, which can damage the fibers. Refrain from using fabric softener, as it may cause wool to felt and alter its natural softness.

  • Spot Cleaning: For stains, apply a small amount of wool-safe detergent to a soft toothbrush, and gently brush the stain. This technique can be combined with either hand or machine washing for a deeper clean.

Step 2: Drying

Step 3: Ironing

Step 4: Care and Maintenance

With these care steps, your wool garments will remain beautiful and resilient, ready to serve as timeless pieces in your wardrobe for years.
